Homemade White Bread
Most supermarket bread often contains preservatives and additives to extend its shelf life and improve its texture. Sometimes, the label is misleading and tells little. This basic white bread is soft, fluffy, and easy to make, and more importantly, you know exactly what ingredients it contains. If you think white bread is unhealthy, you can try whole wheat flour. You can never fail to try it, and it is perfect to have on hand for toast, French toast, etc.
Total time:

Preparation time:
30 minutes
No of serving:

Ingredients:
Milk: 11 Tbsp (165 ml)
All-purpose flour: 1 ½
cups
Yeast: 1tsp
Milk powder: 2 Tbsp
Sugar: 3 Tbsp
Butter: 1 Tbsp
Method:
1. Pour warm milk, yeast,
and sugar into a bowl. Dissolve them well, cover them with a plate, and wait 10
minutes for the yeast to activate (sometimes the yeast may take some
time, so wait until it
activates).
2. Once the yeast is
activated, add milk powder, salt, and activated yeast. Then, add the flour
batch-wise (divide the flour into 4 cups) and start kneading to make the smooth
dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes in the bowl. After 10 minutes, add the soft
butter to the bread dough and start kneading for 15 minutes. Cover and keep on
a side and wait for the dough to rise (double for about 3 hours).
3. After doubling in size, spread the dough and roll it flatly. Fold the end of the dough and roll off.
4. Apply some butter (or)
butter paper to a loaf pan and put the rolled dough inside; cover the dough and
set aside for about 30 minutes.
5. After 30 minutes, preheat the oven for 15 minutes. Now, apply some milk to the upper layer of the bread and keep it inside the oven for about 30 minutes (or until it turns golden brown).
6. Once the bread is
baked, take it out and keep it at room temperature.
7. Remove the bread from
the pan, cut it into slices, and enjoy.
